Dealio’s Chief Commercial Officer, Dagmara Handzlik, to Compete in Her First Ironman Race in Barcelona

We are thrilled to announce that Dealio’s very own Chief Commercial Officer, Dagmara Handzlik, is taking on an incredible new challenge this weekend, on the 6th of October—the Ironman Barcelona race! Known for her extraordinary achievements as a former professional athlete, Dagmara is no stranger to endurance sports, having represented Cyprus on the global stage as a world championship finalist and setting a national record for the women’s marathon with an astounding 2:34h time. 

This Ironman competition marks a new chapter in Dagmara’s athletic journey. Having only begun training for triathlons earlier this year, she will now face one of the toughest endurance tests in the world: the full Ironman triathlon. 

An Ironman race is not for the faint of heart. It is one of the toughest single-day sporting events on the planet, consisting of three demanding components: 

• 3.8 km swim in open water 

• 180 km bike ride 

• 42.2 km marathon (yes, a full marathon to finish it off!) 

Participants must complete the race in under 17 hours to be officially recognised as Ironman finishers. From dawn to dusk, athletes push their bodies to the absolute limit, and even the most experienced competitors find themselves pushed beyond their comfort zones. 

For Dagmara, this race represents a fresh test of her endurance and mental resilience. While she has conquered the marathon in record time, the Ironman adds layers of complexity with the open water swim and the long, energy-draining bike ride before tackling the marathon. Every step, stroke, and pedal push requires intense training, focus, and grit. Dagmara’s ability to shift from marathon running to mastering triathlons in just one year is a testament to her determination and versatility as an athlete.
