Dealio’s Rising Star Loukas Kefalas to Represent Cyprus at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad

We are beyond excited at Dealio to announce that Loukas Kefalas, one of our brilliant Junior Data Analysts, will represent Cyprus at the prestigious 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2024. The event will take place from 10 to 23 September in Budapest, Hungary, and Loukas will be competing among the world’s finest chess talents. 

Loukas has had a stellar chess journey, starting at the age of 14, and over the years has earned numerous accolades. These include taking the top spot in the Cyprus Youth Chess Championships multiple times—Under 15 in 2009, Under 16 in 2010, and Under 18 in 2011. He also secured third place in the Cyprus Chess Open Tournament in 2014 and has represented Cyprus in high-profile international tournaments such as the European Individual School Championships 2010 and the World Youth Chess Championships 2010. 

Most recently, Loukas’ performance in the Cyprus Chess Open Championship 2024 qualified him for the Cyprus Closed Chess Championship, and this year, he achieved an exciting milestone—earning a spot on the national team for the Chess Olympiad.
