Dealio’s Chief Commercial Officer Dagmara Handzlik Triumphs in Her First Ironman Race in Barcelona

We are proud to announce that Dealio’s own Chief Commercial Officer, Dagmara Handzlik, has achieved an extraordinary milestone by completing her very first Ironman race at Ironman Barcelona 2024! Held on 6th October, this Ironman event saw over 3,000 participants gather to test their strength, stamina, and mental resilience on one of the world’s most demanding endurance courses. Dagmara finished the race with an impressive time of 11 hours and 52 minutes, securing an incredible 20th place in her age group category. This remarkable result is even more impressive, considering it’s Dagmara’s first Ironman event! 

Ironman Barcelona is renowned for being both scenic and intensely challenging, attracting triathletes from all over the world. Taking place in the beautiful town of Calella, located on the Catalonian coast, Ironman Barcelona offers participants a breathtaking backdrop along the Mediterranean Sea as they face the strenuous Ironman distances: 

• 3.8 km swim in the open waters of the Mediterranean 

• 180 km bike ride along the coastline and through the surrounding landscape 

• 42.2 km marathon run to cap off the race 

With a strict time limit of 16 hours to complete the entire course, participants must maintain a steady, determined pace to avoid disqualification. Every leg of the Ironman demands strategic endurance, with each kilometer testing the athletes’ physical limits and mental focus. 

In her debut Ironman, Dagmara’s performance was nothing short of outstanding. Completing the race in under 12 hours and placing 20th in her age group category highlights her dedication, resilience, and the incredible progress she has made since beginning her triathlon training earlier this year. Her successful finish reflects the same drive and commitment she brings to her role as Dealio’s CCO, where her leadership and strategic insight continually push boundaries and set high standards. 

Reflecting on her journey, Dagmara shared these inspiring words: 

“Crossing the finish line was a truly exhilarating moment. Every kilometer of this Ironman challenged me in ways I never imagined – physically, mentally, and emotionally. The open water swim was humbling, the bike ride felt endless, and the marathon, which I had to run with a painful injury to my foot, pushed me to my absolute limits. But knowing that my friends, family, and team at Dealio were cheering me on every step of the way made it all the more meaningful. This experience has taught me that with dedication, resilience, and support, we can achieve more than we think possible.”
